Best golf courses in Mauritius

There is an incredible number of golf courses scattered throughout the island, either 9 holes courses or world class 18 holes championship courses, designed by famous golfers such as Ernie Els, Hugh Baiocchi, and Rodney Wright.

Anahita Golf Course

Designed by Ernie Els, the Four Seasons golf club at Anahita is an 18-holes course with wide fairways and five sets of tees. It includes 6 stunning beachfront holes and a final hole which is among the most spectacular in the world. Built under the standards of the USGA, carefully woven in a tropical sanctuary, the Four Seasons course is located among the lush mountains and is bordered by the huge crystalline lagoon. This course has opened its doors in 2008 but is already imposed as one of the best of the island.

Ile aux Cerfs Golf Club

The Ile aux Cerfs golf club is a remarkable course, known as one of the best golf courses in the world. Bordered by white sand and surrounded by the blue of the Indian Ocean, the Ile aux Cerfs golf club has breathtaking views. It has recently been appointed as 10e best golf course in the world both by Golf World magazine (United Kingdom) and the Middle East magazine, as well as 19e by Golf Journal (Germany). All 18 holes offer a view of the ocean – some with overviews of the clearings through the trees.

Legend Golf Course (Belle Mare)

‘The Legend’, the first of its kind on the island of Mauritius, designed by the South African champion Hugh Baiocchi, is the crowning of the resort, located along one of the most beautiful beaches of the island of Mauritius. Since its opening in January 1994, Mauritius has a world-class golf course and became a golf holiday destination. Each of the 18 holes has distinct characteristics. Superb fairways are located in the heart of a native forest, culminating on the green velvet.

Links Golf Course (Belle Mare)

The Links is a championship golf course designed by Rodney Wright and Peter Allis. By 72 with 5942 m, the 18th hole is located among the turquoise waters. As its twin, Legend, Links offers you a golf school led by professionals and qualified instructors. The natural framework of the course is complemented by excellent fairways and greens. A particular feature is a volcanic rock, stacked to form structures in the shape of a pyramid.

The Tamarina golf club

Tamarina Golf Club is located on a beautiful field of 206 hectares in Tamarin on the west coast of the island. This 18-hole championship course is surrounded by tropical trees. The holes have been specially designed to give spectacular views of the impressive Mont Rempart and the impressive mountain chain. Some holes also offer a superb view on the clear blue Lagoon of the bay of Tamarin.
